Dry fit of the canopy top...

The above photo show the position that the canopy top will be in.  It will be supported by four hollow laminated timber post with internal stainless holding rods and pads.  The wiring will be able to be run down the posts.

On top of the canopy there will be 16 flexible solar panels running along the outer edges on the port and starboard side.   The central area will be clear for when the sails are lowered and also as I will have two large removable hatches in that area so I can cut down on wind lift if I am unfortunate enough to get caught in a cyclone.

Along the port and starboard side 100 mm in from the edge will be hand grips.  They will tie in with a 20mm upstand running across the canopy.  At each aft corner will be a fitting to which I can attach a hose and feed fresh water into the water tanks if I am in heavy rain thus reducing the use of the water maker.
