Gas bottle storage...
Rather than use two big gas bottles I have decided to have one large one and four smaller canisters. The logic behind this is that in addition to the gas stove I am having a portable gas BBQ. So, if I make a miscalculation and run out of gas in the main bottle I will have back up cannisters for the BBQ.
The gas bottle compartment is in the aft port cabin and the compartment will be vented to the outside. There will of course be doors on the compartment.

I have had marine stainless steel gas bottles on my boat for ten years, the rubber bases are great for absorbing shock. I could not stand conventional gas bottles, they rust and look tired very quickly. I sourced my stainless bottles bottles from a company in Melbourne but don't have their contact details at hand. If you are interested here is a link to a supplier who supplies the same product. http://www.clasmar.com/domestic_trolleys.html
They are more expensive, but in my opinion they are easier to store and look way better.
Thanks for that idea. Actually I would have done that. I bought a gas bottle in a marine alloy...not the normal one so hopefully that will do the job and then when it wears out I will replace it with a stainless one. Thanks for the details.
