Rigging is also almost completed...


As I mentioned I am having Gunther make the rigging for me as well.

Orginally I was proposing using carbon masts and high tech rope for the stays etc.  I also considered stainless wire.  However, after visiting Gunther recently he convinced me that I would be better using galvanised wire for longevity and reliability.

He showed me rigging that he does in the old fashioned way which is wrapping the galvanised wire in tar cloth.  As he pointed out it is easy to see if any chafing takes place.  Agreed it is a little heavier and will not be as fast but if I lose a fraction of a knot in speed, I really don't care. 

I rather like the traditional look and feel of it.
